What will I learn in the Registered Gen AI Practitioner course?
You’ll learn the core concepts behind artificial intelligence, Generative AI, and large language models (LLMs), along with practical techniques for using them effectively.
The course covers prompt engineering, major AI models and platforms, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), custom AI assistants, AI agents, prompt chaining, memory, and task orchestration. You’ll also learn how to evaluate the risks, limitations, and ethical considerations of using Generative AI.
What is the course format?
This is a hands-on, instructor-led course. It includes live demonstrations, prompt design practice, and exercises that give you direct experience applying Generative AI.
You’ll also build and deploy a basic custom GPT so you can put the concepts you learn into practice.
Do I need coding or technical experience?
No. The course is designed to make Generative AI practical and accessible for professionals without a technical background. No coding experience is required.
Which AI tools will I learn about?
You’ll explore and compare major models and platforms across the AI landscape, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Mistral, Perplexity, and Meta’s Llama.
The course also explores tools for extending and customizing AI behavior, including custom GPTs and other assistant and agent technologies.
What is Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)?
Retrieval-Augmented Generation, or RAG, allows an AI system to retrieve relevant information from external sources and use it as context when generating a response.
You’ll learn how RAG can make AI responses more context-aware and why it matters when designing AI solutions for business use.
What are AI agents?
AI agents are systems designed to use AI models to take actions and complete tasks with greater autonomy than a traditional assistant.
You’ll learn how agents differ from AI assistants, explore potential business applications, and get an introduction to the tools and frameworks being used to build them.
How long is the course?
The Registered Gen AI Practitioner course is a one-day, live, instructor-led training.
Sessions may be offered online or in person. Check the specific course registration page for format and schedule.
Does this course count toward PMI PDUs?
MPs can receive 16 PDUs for our courses, and 1 PDU for every hour spent taking our online courses.

What credential will I earn?
After completing the course requirements, you’ll earn the Registered Gen AI Practitioner™ credential and digital badge, recognizing your practical understanding of Generative AI and its application in the workplace.
What do I need for class?
For live remote courses, you’ll need a computer, reliable internet connection, and access to Zoom with video and audio.
For in-person courses, there’s no formal dress code. Most attendees wear business casual, and jeans are fine. We recommend bringing layers so you can stay comfortable throughout the training.
When does the course begin?
Start times vary by course and schedules are listed on each course registration page. Check the specific course you’re interested in for the start time and time zone.
What if I need to transfer to a different date?
No problem. We can move you to another class or transfer your registration to another person. Contact our training team at education@scruminc.com and we’ll help you make the change.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel at least two weeks before the class start date to receive a full refund. After that, we can move your registration to another date or give you credit toward a future class.
