Founded by Scrum co-creator Jeff Sutherland in 2006, Scrum Inc. has helped hundreds of companies use Scrum to drive revenue by dramatically improving quality and productivity. Jeff formed the first Scrum team in 1993, is an original signatory to the Agile Manifesto, and has done more to further Agile development than anyone on the planet. Jeff founded Scrum Inc. to help him have a greater impact on the future of Scrum by improving they way it is implemented and moving it outside software.

Jeff is the inventor and co-creator of Scrum. He is a West Point graduate, former fighter pilot and cancer researcher, as well as CTO of eleven different software companies.  He launched the first Scrum team in 1993 and has shephereded its growth into almost every industry: finance, healthcare, higher education and telecom. His most recent book is Scrum: The Art of Doing Twice the Work in Half the Time.

Arline brings her unique perspective as a Unitarian Universalist minister to the Scrum Inc. team. She joined the Scrum Inc team in December of 2010 as product owner, setting strategic priorities, ordering the backlog, and expanding the team. She is the co-author of Scrum Inc’s new Product Owner course that she leads with Jeff.

Joel specializes in researching and creating content around Agile practices. Through his work with Scrum Inc., Joel has helped codify cutting edge Scrum and eXtreme Manufacturing techniques.

Joel’s background is in journalism. He cut his teeth at National Public Radio where he was responsible for the live, on-air production of NPR’s flagship show, Morning Edition. Joel also spent three tours in Baghdad as NPR’s bureau chief.

As Chief Content Officer of Scrum Inc., he is responsible for all content. He is the co-author of Scrum: The Art of Doing Twice the Work in Half the Time published by Crown. JJ is also a consultant focusing on Scrum outside of software. He specializes in Scrum in defense,  journalism, and services organizations.

JJ's background is as an award winning journalist for NPR, where he covered the biggest conflicts of the last decade including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the Arab Spring for which he has won every award in broadcast journalism.
